Thomas Gross

Thomas grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and joined the military right out of school. He traveled all over the country and gained many valuable life experiences. He holds a Master's degree in Justice Administration and Crime Management from Bellevue University. Many of Thomas's friends from his hometown chose the wrong path and some even succumbed to their addictions.

Thomas, a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer, now resides in Virginia Beach and serves as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician. In a short period, he was awarded the Commonwealth of Virginia Medal of Merit and has accumulated several “life saver” awards from Virginia Beach EMS. With a true passion of helping others, he continues to expand his work experience. Being a volunteer with VBEMS enabled him to connect with several people from all walks of life and this is what inspired him to open a sober house.

In addition, several of his military friends battled silent struggles and turned to substance or drug abuse. Thomas's vision is to create a place for people to become better than they were yesterday. To provide a home away from home where they can have independence while learning to maintain a clean lifestyle and be successful at long-term recovery.
